This is a new study relayed by Metronews that… makes you smile:60% of toothbrushes screened in a study found… poop. Yes yes, finally, bacteria from feces. The risks associated with this lack of hygiene are multiple:diarrhoea, skin rashes or small infections...
To arrive at these results, researchers from Quinnipiac University (Connecticut, USA) studied the toothbrushes of students living in a dormitory of 9, and therefore sharing the same bathroom / toilet. They then came to the conclusion that each flush of the toilet dispersed bacteria from human excrement... And 8 times out of 10, the bacteria found on the toothbrushes were not those of their owners.
Morality, when the toilet is in the bathroom, you don't leave your toothbrush lying around in the open air in a pot... You put it away! Another trick, lower the toilet seat before flushing...
And anyway, we change our toothbrush every month for perfect hygiene.
