Is there a grain of truth in the claim that spinach makes you strong?
Unfortunately, eating spinach doesn't give you Popeye powers. If you want to get strong, it is important to eat enough protein. Spinach does indeed contain protein, but fish, meat and eggs provide more of these building blocks. The iron or nitrate in spinach does not make you strong either. Every little bit helps and a healthy and varied diet is good. But if you want to become a muscle bundle, you really have to go to the gym.
