Do you ever wonder if you are ready for a marathon?
How long should you train to finish physically healthy? Five years, one year, or rather a few months? If you run one to three times a week for more than two years, you should be able to prepare for a marathon in 12 to 15 weeks. Of course you sometimes hear miracle stories about people who finish the marathon without much training. That is not healthy, in fact:it can even be dangerous.
Your body must be sufficiently accustomed to running beforehand, because a marathon is an attack on your body. Going untrained is not an option. It is recommended that you only start training for a marathon if you can effortlessly maintain fifteen to twenty kilometers. If you are going to run a marathon, it is important that you cross the finish line healthy. You don't want to be unable to run for months afterwards, because you have heavily overloaded all your muscles in your body.
