More and more women are doing yoga

From a study by Yoga Magazine shows that 13 percent of Dutch women yoga practices. That is twice as much as three years ago. In total, even 40 percent of women have ever taken a yoga class.

More money is being spent on yoga

The Eventbrite platform sells tickets for events. They also see the popularity of yoga increase. In 2014, Eventbrite hosted 3,000 yoga events. Four years later, that had grown to 40,000 yoga events.

The main reasons to do yoga

  • To relax (54 percent)
  • To become physically and mentally stronger (52 percent)
  • To de-stress (51 percent)
  • To become happier (43 percent)
  • As a workout (41 percent)
  • To break free from technology (such as the smartphone) (20 percent)

The main reasons not to practice yoga

According to Yoga Magazine

  • Yoga is not for me (33 percent)
  • Yoga is too floaty (30 percent)
  • I do other sports (23 percent)
  • I am not flexible enough (16 percent)
