In our modern society, everything is a question of timing, saving time, ultra-speed... and catering is no exception! Taking the time to eat properly is no longer really one of our priorities:we have breakfast standing up while running in transport and we eat between two meetings... in short, we no longer take the time to enjoy a real break. But in addition to being unpleasant, eating too quickly would also be bad for your health! At least that's what Japanese researchers think following their recent preliminary study analyzing the relationship between this bad eating habit and obesity... a frightening finding!
Eating too fast is also gaining weight! First, a quick meal is often a fast food or sandwich type meal (and we have seen more balanced than a burger and fries!) Moreover, if you don't take the time to chew , the brain does not send us the message of satiety and we therefore eat more before feeling (finally) sated. But following the study conducted by the University of Hiroshima (in Japan) on 441 women and 642 men, we now know that weight problems are not the only consequence of this bad eating habit. In fact, tests show that eating too quickly leads to greater fluctuations in blood sugar, which can lead to insulin resistance. This would promote abdominal obesity, heart problems and even diabetes… Creepy! In short, to take care of your health, you (very) regularly take the time to sit down and enjoy your meal… and then it’s still more fun! Good app!
