Meditation is the art of letting go. Meditating regularly has very positive virtues on several common disorders such as stress but also improves the quality of our sleep or our creativity. It is also an effective way to develop our mindfulness to put things into perspective, in other words, to have a better life! But when you are a beginner, it is not always an easy exercise that requires time, concentration and (a little) technique. Technology is once again at our service, this time thanks to… virtual reality!
Farewell to the clichés about meditation where you imagine yourself sitting cross-legged on the ground for hours. This practice would become easier, fun and even playful thanks to the new virtual reality helmets! Indeed, meditation generally aims to immerse us in a state of mindfulness, clearly, where we focus on the present moment and on all the sensations that we do not think about daily, such as breathing for example. The helmet, equipped with a screen (glasses) and headphones, offers complete auditory and visual immersion. Thanks to the images broadcast, there is no longer any need to be (hyper) concentrated to imagine being in the countryside or at the beach, since it gives us the impression of really being there. Becoming aware of your body is then easier and you can focus your attention on your feelings and make the most of the benefits of the session. This original method is still little democratized, if we want to test it two solutions are therefore available to us:the first is to use a dedicated program at home (which implies having access to a helmet), the second is to go to one of the workshops occasionally organized in wellness centers such as the Diacalm program (prices are given on request on the website). It makes you want to try!
