Learn the handstand in 9 steps
- Do a short warm-up. Don't forget to loosen your wrists, your weight will rest on that later.
- Start practicing near a wall. Good for training your balance.
- Ask someone for help the first time if you don't succeed. It can be quite difficult the first time alone, even if you practice against the wall.
- Can't get into the handstand in the 'normal' way? Stand with your back to the wall and place your hands on the floor. You can now climb up the wall with your feet.
- Do you find it easier to stand against the wall? Gently push your feet away from the wall and practice standing loose for a little longer at a time without losing your balance.
- Time to practice the handstand without a wall. In the beginning, choose a soft surface.
- Don't be afraid of the handstand, it will backfire.
- Distribute the weight over your entire hands and don't just lean on your wrists. This makes it easier on your wrists, but you are also less likely to fall over.
