You tried but nothing worked... It's 3 am and you can't close your eyes... So, rather than rolling around in bed grumbling (it's useless) or thinking about the next day where we'll be all tired (we're not there), we breathe and we take the opportunity to do things that we wouldn't necessarily do during the day.
/ We invent stories that make us dream. An adventure with the accounting guy, a dangerous quest in a fantastic world, a remake of your favorite movie in which you are the heroine,… We let our imagination fly, we allow ourselves the right to free it, to dream awake... And not only will we fall asleep quickly, with a smile... but it may have given us some good ideas...
/ We invent lame stories. Like:"The Grazing Horse". The principle ? You imagine a horse, its color, the grass around it... You imagine it walking quietly... simply grazing. Just that, in fact… For as long as possible. An exercise between counting sheep (also boring) and meditation (our brain focuses on an image). And honestly, it feels damn good to clear your head like thataaaaaa…. Zzzzzz……
/ We make a list of everything we have to do. Yes, because often we have trouble sleeping because we are stressed about what awaits us in the next few days. So we get up, we grab a sheet, we write down everything we have to do with a schedule if necessary, and that's it, it's on paper, not in our head. We feel light…
/ We kiss our partner. On the back, on the shoulders, we caress him, everywhere, we heat him gently... then more intensely if he is receptive and "sensitive" to our nocturnal advances... There, we make love... A good way to spend time (and getting tired to sleep better).
/ We read a book that we would never have read. Like the dusty book of heroic fantasy from our man, on bunnies (of our kids) or our special insomnia book:"All about the exciting life of sea urchins". There, we can be sure that in 30 minutes max our brain will be in off mode.
/ We take out the colored pencils and do Zen coloring. Yes, it relaxes, it soothes, it calms (we tested it for you, by the way). The ideal way to be ready to finally join the arms of Morpheus (without becoming a goddess in a drawing, huh, don't push the envelope)...
/ We fall back into childhood by watching the complete "Good night the little ones". The sandman will most certainly pass… Come on, here are 35 stories! It's a gift.
/ We write. A poem. A song. A story. Strings of words that make no sense. In short, we take out everything that we have in us and that pollutes (often without realizing it) our mind. The worst ? Reading all this again the next day, we will often be impressed. To us the next Goncourt? In any case, it's up to us to sleep!
