Is drinking too much water bad?

The right dose under normal conditions

It is 1.5 liters of liquid per day, all drinks combined, including morning milk tea, fruit juices, coffee, soda... So there is no scientific reason for us to swallow a magnum of water daily .

The problem... is not to evacuate.

The balance between what "enters" and what "exits" must absolutely be respected. However, our first reflex when we want to pee? We hold back (for a long time) because we don't have time. The bladder (300ml, less than a can) is like a balloon:it is elastic but, by dint of holding it back, it ends up stretching.

Result

When the bladder is distended, we perceive the need to empty it too late. And when the urge becomes urgent, we can no longer hold back! However, urinary incontinence affects 6 million women in France, with a peak among 18-25 year olds… Not to mention the collateral damage:urinary tract infections or recurrent cystitis.

The right rhythm

By getting into the habit of going to the toilet very regularly, the bladder can retract in 2 months. Ideally, go there every 2 hours!
