There is one thing that we all know the day after the holidays:we are woozy, with turkey, beef, duck, dried fruits, chocolate, logs, far too many petits fours and appetizers. all kind on the stomach. Suddenly, in the morning and all day, you feel "burp".
So, what do we do (apart from moaning zombie style)? Two basic rules:1 / we do not fast especially (our body would not get anything, panic and would start to store everything dromedary way) and 2 / we eat well, either by avoiding to finish the greasy leftovers, full of sauce and sugars (we freeze them for later).
Here are 5 tips for a good recovery (hips):
1/ I drink a lot of water. This is the golden rule, not only because alcohol has dehydrating properties, but also because our body needs to purify itself thoroughly. When we wake up, we start with a large glass of water on an empty stomach and we transform our bottle of water into our best friend for the following days. If you don't mind the taste, you can opt for mineral-rich water (for a boost) or sparkling water (to feel less heavy). And between two sips, we take diuretic and detox drinks, such as tea, chicory or a rosemary infusion. On the other hand, we avoid coffee, this "exciting" which risks putting a little more mess in our body which needs calm, fruit juices (too acidic) and of course...alcohol.
2/ I make myself some toast/a bowl of cereal. Ok, we won't have the brunch of the century, but by maintaining our breakfast, we send the following message to our body:"It's fine, honey, look, I'm eating normally. You can relax! ". And we give him the right fuel to help him get it all out. So, we prefer wholemeal bread and we avoid foods that are too sweet or very acidic fruits. The rest of the day, always to restore balance, we do not skip meals. And if you're not hungry, eat light, with a small soup and a hard-boiled egg for example.
3/ I eat yogurts. Yes, because their lactic ferments help the good digestion of food, soothe our stomach and provide us with a satisfying dose of protein. To pamper our belly even more (because it deserves it), we can give ourselves small massages around the navel just before our little nap session. On top!
4/ I put chicken on my plate. Low in fat, high in protein:everything we need! We also like hard-boiled eggs, which will stall us without disgusting us.
5/ I love vegetables. We prefer those rich in fiber (easy to digest), steamed and/or with olive or rapeseed oil.
And here it is:in a few days, you will forget your nausea (and your little pounds gained during the holidays)!
