In France, asthma affects nearly 4 million people and is the first chronic disease of children. However, 1 out of 2 asthmatics do not take their treatment correctly and 6 out of 10 asthmatics are not sufficiently controlled. This is why the Health Insurance in partnership with the association Asthme &Allergies launched, Tuesday, May 2, 2017, a mobile application allowing people with asthma to better monitor their symptoms and help them better manage their crisis.
The Asthm'Activ application works like a real logbook. Daily, the user can thus list his symptoms by notifying whether they appear day or night as well as their nature:wheezing, coughing, tightness in the chest... With all these indications recorded, the application draws up a report which allows to know if the asthma is well controlled and indicates the advice to follow accordingly.
Another feature of Asthm'Activ:in the event of a serious crisis, the application reminds you of the 5 steps to follow. "Take two puffs of your bronchodilator immediately", "Sit up straight and stay calm", "Breathe slowly and evenly", "If there is no improvement, take 2 puffs", "Call 15 or 112”. For organizations specializing in the treatment of asthma, “the best way to forget about it is to learn how to treat it”. For all asthmatics who would like better treatment, the Asthm'Activ application can be downloaded for free from the App Store or Google Play Store.
