Everyday life is sometimes not easy and it is difficult to relax day by day. But solutions exist, one can practice an evasive activity such as sport, dance, theater or even cooking classes. Well we can add to that, meditation. Because Canadian researchers from the University of Waterloo have deduced from a study that 10 minutes of meditation a day is enough to erase our negative thoughts, including stress for example.
To conduct this study, the researchers called on 82 participants. Subjects performed tasks on a computer while experiencing interruptions. This is to analyze their ability to stay focused. Then the scientists created two groups, in the first the participants listen to an audio story, in the second they engage in a meditation course. The conclusion of the test shows that the disturbances created during the first phase of the experiment halved in people who practiced meditation, because it diverts our attention to the outside world and therefore we forget negative thoughts.
