Spring flowers and sprouting trees, nesting birds, wildlife coming to life, beautiful color palettes and frog concerts. When will you go out again and enjoy all the beauty that the Netherlands has to offer?
Strijbeekse Heide/North Brabant – 9 km
In the summer this path, a former smuggling route, is a picture with the blooming purple heather, but in the spring the path really comes to life. During the walk you walk around a tranquil fen with an island. In the background you can hear concerts of frogs and birds that herald spring.
Utrecht – 15 km
The inhabitants of the Grebbe Line, through which this forest ranger's path runs, are most active in the spring. It is therefore possible that you will bump into a pine marten, roe deer or badger, but grass snakes and butterflies also come to life in this green area in spring.
Schoorlse Duinen/North Holland – 17 km
During this walk through the dunes you have the wind in your hair and the drifting sand beneath you. In the spring it blooms here and you can see the tracks of all kinds of animals on the bare dune. The pine orchid is in bloom in the pine forests of the Schoorlse Duinen.

Ter Apel/Groningen – 12 km
In the forest near Ter Apel you walk on winding paths, along the Ruiten Aa and through open fields. You can fully enjoy the tranquility here. In the spring the walk is extra beautiful, when there are plenty of star hyacinths blooming around the monastery and lilies of the valley in the forest. At the water's edge you might spot the beautiful blue kingfisher.
Veluwe/Gelderland – 18.6 km
Also in this area on the Veluwe, all the animals come to life. If you come in spring, the birds will sing and you can spot wild boars and red deer that live in the old oak forests. The Kraaihei is in full bloom, which makes for beautiful pictures for Instagram.
Terschelling – 11 km
The forester's path over the Noordsvaarder runs through the dunes and wilderness of Terschelling. The tough walk is rewarded with a beautiful view from the dune. In spring, masses of birds that have just returned from the far south rest here and you can see seals off the coast.
Hondsrug/Drenthe – 17 km
This walk through Drenthe's nature is most beautiful in the spring. Cranberries and peat moss grow on the island in the middle of the Oude Hemelriek. You will also encounter enough toads, frogs and salamanders on your path in the spring and you have the greatest chance of meeting a deer at this time of year.

Achterhoek/Gelderland – 6.1 km
Put on your boots and walk through swampy grasslands, moors and woodland. The different shades of green make this path a feast for the eyes in spring. Enjoy the many butterflies and dragonflies and look out for deer when you walk the path early in the morning or at dusk.
South Limburg – 6.6 km
During this walk you will feel the history of South Limburg. You walk over millions of years old limestone remains and along limestone quarries. If you come in spring, the exuberant bloom of wild garlic and wood anemone offers a magical spectacle. From the viewpoint over the Maas valley you can see the blossoming fruit trees and the Maas slowly flowing past.
Gelderse Poort/Gelderland – 12 km
Spring in the Ooijpolder:fragrant hawthorns, a swamp full of birds and nesting storks. At the viewpoint over the Greenlands you look out over the swamp and a rough overgrown area where there used to be a brick factory
