The effect of time. From a physiological point of view, teeth are not more fragile when we get older. Yes, but… they suffer the effects of time and repeated attacks, especially the incisors (“front” teeth) and canines. Result:you may have one or two teeth worn at the end (sometimes breaking) and/or stained, while the rest of the teeth are healthy.
The technique that works. To find a visually healthy tooth, a veneer is placed. It is a small lamella in porcelain or composite resin, made to measure (in the lab for porcelain, in the office for composite), according to the shape and shade desired by the dentist and the patient. Good to know:before fixing it, the dentist must remove a little enamel, so that the veneer is aligned with the other teeth. This procedure is irreversible.
Dress and price. Porcelain veneers last longer than composite ones:their durability is estimated at ten years (sometimes more). It is necessary to count between 400 and 600 € for a composite veneer, between 600 and 800 € for the porcelain version.
