Tobacco:soon non-smoking terraces?

Nearly eight out of ten French people say they are bothered by tobacco smoke. Faced with such a finding, the Minister of Health Marisol Touraine wanted to issue a challenge to all cafeterias and restaurateurs in the country:sign a charter committing them to set up a non-smoking area on their terrace(s). In exchange, if they take up the bet, the Minister ensures that the establishments will be referenced free of charge on the site "Ma Terrasse sans tabac" in order to allow the French and especially tourists to locate them in a few clicks.

Raising awareness on issues related to smoking

If smoking in public places has been banned for a few years now, with "My tobacco-free terrace" the Ministry of Health wants to go even further. The objective of the operation is not only to encourage cafe managers to create a non-smoking environment but above all to encourage them to raise awareness among their employees (and their customers at the same time) around the issues of the fight against smoking. To further strengthen its initiative, the ministry also announced the release of an app dedicated to the operation. Just like the site, the application will allow us to search for all the establishments in France with a non-smoking terrace, to share our favorites and to suggest the membership of a place that we would like to see referenced. For your information, the application will be accessible to everyone, available on Google Play and on the Apple Store.

We hope that the initiative will bear fruit!
