Times are tough for food lovers:not a week goes by without us being told that such and such a food is not terrible for our health. It's even worse for lovers of junk food, which is constantly decried. But this week, an info comes to change (a little) the situation:an American nutritionist, Dr. Emily Field, indeed affirms to Business Insider that it is healthier to eat two burgers rather than one burger and fries. Gosh!
According to the nutritionist, the explanation is very simple:you have to think in terms of nutritional balance. So, if we think about the composition of food – lipids, carbohydrates and proteins – the burger is a much more interesting choice than fries. Carbohydrates provide energy, protein helps us feel full and is essential for the proper functioning of the body, while fat stores energy and helps absorb vitamins and minerals. Jackpot:the burger contains all three! Conversely, the portion of fries contains a large amount of carbohydrates, without providing protein:you risk raising the blood sugar level, and feeling hungry quickly after the meal. Verdict:if one burger is not enough for us, it is better to eat another rather than complete with a portion of fries.
We can never say it enough:in life, everything is a question of balance!
