Like the rest of the population, retirees also need to go on vacation to rest, get away from it all and, for those in particular who suffer from isolation, to break their loneliness and meet new people. Retirees have the possibility of benefiting from certain financial aid to go on vacation. Under conditions of resources for some of them such as, for example, stays at preferential rates offered by the National Agency for holiday vouchers, or, for the maximum number of seniors, through aid allocated by the retirement, without forgetting the discounts on means of transport that allow you to get away from it all.
The National Agency for Holiday Vouchers (ANCV), whose main mission is to provide employees, but also non-employees, with holiday vouchers to finance part of their holidays, has set up since 2007, in partnership with the National Old Age Insurance Fund (CNAV), a program called "Seniors on vacation".
This specific program allows seniors, especially the most modest, to go on vacation in France and Europe, by the sea, in the countryside, or even in the mountains, benefiting from preferential rates for "all-inclusive" stays. ".
In addition to affordable prices, especially for the most modest retirees, the ANCV can participate in the financing of part of their stays thanks to aid that it pays subject to means testing to senior beneficiaries. Assistance that can represent up to 50% of the price of the stay. However, the latter is capped at 160 euros or 135 euros depending on the length of stay, and is awarded only once per person and per calendar year.
The stays offered by the ANCV to retirees to go on vacation include a whole set of services included:accommodation in a double room; full board; daily activities; at least one day excursion; entertainment every evening; station-residence transfers. In summer, these stays are mainly offered outside school holiday dates.
As the ANCV indicates, thanks to the "Seniors on vacation" program, 600,000 seniors have already been able to go on vacation while benefiting from the aid provided. Note:these stays at affordable prices are also accessible to carers of the elderly in particular.
To go on vacation, retirees also have the possibility of benefiting from aid from their basic and supplementary pension funds.
This aid often takes the form of preferential rates negotiated by pension funds with holiday villages in particular. This is offered, for example, by Retirement Insurance in partnership with the National Agency for Holiday Vouchers.
It can also be financial support, generally granted subject to means, intended to cover part of the cost of a holiday stay. Ircantec, the supplementary pension for public service contract workers, for example, offers financial aid to its retirees intended to finance up to 90% of their vacation stays. Aid, subject to means testing and linked to Ircantec membership, which can only be awarded once every two years.
Another example:the National Pension Fund for Local Authority Agents (CNRACL) offers its retirees financial aid which covers part of their accommodation and transport costs, or which allows them to save to then benefit from checks inexpensive vacations. The amount of this aid varies according to the reference tax income of their recipients.
Retirees who go on vacation and who use public transport such as the train or the plane, for example, also have the possibility of benefiting from reduced fares for their trips.
At the SNCF, for example, retirees are entitled to annual leave tickets if they take a TGV INOUI, a TER or an Intercités to go on vacation. These tickets allow them to benefit from a reduction of at least 25% on the price of their round trip of at least 200 kilometers, once a year. It is even possible to obtain a reduction of up to 50% of the price of the train ticket, depending on availability, and if they are purchased for half of their cost with holiday vouchers.
Retirees aged 65 and over who fly to go on holiday can benefit, for example with Air France, from a senior card which gives them the possibility of obtaining tickets up to 30% cheaper, with a checked baggage included in the price.
