During endurance sports you can experience hunger pangs:your legs feel weak and you can hardly move forward. You may also see a little blurry.
What is hunger knock?
Especially untrained runners can suddenly be attacked by a hunger knock. This is the signal that the body switches to fat burning. Fine, you might think, but in fact this means that you have run out of glycogen; the substance that your muscles and liver use to convert carbohydrates into sugar (glucose). As a result, your blood sugar level drops, you get a huge appetite and your energy level drops.
How do you avoid hunger pangs? To avoid hunger pangs, have a light meal or snack more than an hour before your workout. Make sure it is rich in easily digestible carbohydrates, such as grains, pasta and fruit.
