Follow Vijnana yoga from Thirza van de Hoef on May 18 during Healthy Lifestyle Day by Santé.
Thirza is a very well-known name within yoga land. You may also know her from Happinez magazine or Yogamagazine, or you may have encountered her at festivals such as Lowlands, Happinez festival and Healthy Fest. And she will also be present on May 18th at Healthy Lifestyle Day by Santé! Are you going to take her Vijnana class?
Vijnana is a form that is not known to the general public. This is because it is less westernized and more of the old style of yoga. The basis of vijnana yoga is located in Israel. The founder is Orit Sen Gupta. Vijnana is an active form of yoga, where we use the breath to align our spine and form the posture from there. Jnana means knowledge. Vijnana means 'knowledge from within'. In vijnana yoga there is active work with the breath and more specifically, with the vayu's. Vayu means 'wind' and Vayu is also the Hindu god of the wind. With the help of the vayu's we are able to address our subtle body more. The practice of the asanas with precision and gentleness, along with the vayus, makes you turn inward.
