When do you wash your pajamas? Once a week ? Every two weeks? Once a month ? Warning:you should do it at least once a week because according to a British study, the bacteria it contains can cause allergies but also cystitis and skin problems…like acne (help)!
To reach this conclusion, British researchers from the School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in London inspected the nightwear of 2,500 young couples, who kept theirs for more than two weeks before washing it (13 days in average for men and up to 17 days for a woman's nightie!).
Their observation? For starters:we're kidding. For 78% of the men questioned, the excuse is the following:someone else washes their clothes so it is not them who decide and they are innocent it is promised (well see). On the women's side, it is generally explained to alternate two pajamas in a week ... and suddenly forget since when they have not gone through the washing machine.
Anyway:when sniffing clothes, 50% of men and 41% of women said that if they don't smell bad, they don't wash them (burp).
But the problem, explain the researchers, is that the bacteria, not necessarily visible, are there ... and that their proliferation can cause pimples (burp burp). In addition, pajamas can carry staphylococci (bacteria usually present in the lining of the nose, which can then colonize other areas such as the armpits or the genital area) or E Coli bacteria (those in poop, to speak clearly ) and cause infections (help!)
To avoid this, Professor Sally Bloomfield, who participated in the study, recommends washing your pajamas once a week. We note, we note!
