The 23rd edition of the Pink October campaign has begun and this month of October will be devoted to informing and raising awareness of breast cancer, which is likely to develop in one in 8 women. And as the official website of the campaign says, "fighting cancer is above all fighting so that life can go on, and with it, the joy of living ". And precisely, women who have gone through cancer have found a superb way to transform their ordeal into a message of hope:to celebrate their victory over the disease, they have had their chests tattooed with pretty designs.
In order to reclaim their bodies after a mastectomy that required the removal of the nipples or the entire breast(s), these women benefited from the help of tattoo artists to cover the scars left by the operations. The tattoos, composed among other things of colorful flowers or larger than life nipples reproduced with 3D effects, have helped to restore femininity, beauty and self-confidence to these women.
The result is simply breathtaking and the strong message is filled with hope. We salute the courage of these women and those who are currently fighting to overcome the disease!
