From a rare medical phenomenon was born a small miracle. Or rather two. Kate Hill, an Australian suffering from Stein-Leventhal syndrome, a disease which affects the ovaries and which can cause infertility, gave birth to two little girls conceived… ten days apart!
The young woman, who dreamed of having children, was taking hormone treatment to conceive. A method that worked beyond his expectations since Kate Hill became pregnant after one and the same sexual intercourse. Her husband's sperm apparently stayed alive long enough to fertilize a second egg ten days later. This rare phenomenon called superfetation has only been recorded ten times around the world.
The two little girls, named Charlotte and Olivia, are now 10 months old. Although they were born on the same day, they are not twins. They have a different height, weight, blood group and are both doing very well!
