Myth or reality ? It is often said that Marylin Monroe slept with a bra in order to keep a firm chest. Except that doctors agree that sleeping with a bra has no impact on the maintenance of the breasts. In fact, when lying down, the breasts are naturally spared by gravity. Wearing a bra at night is therefore of no interest, especially since the firmness of the breasts depends on factors such as genetics (=the natural elasticity of the skin), pregnancy, losses and weight gain, smoking or very intensive sports activities.
First observation:sleeping with a bra (we have all done it before…) is very uncomfortable, especially if you have opted for a model with metal frames. As long as you wear a model that is a little too tight (idem, it has already happened to all of us), the bra leaves a mark on the skin and can cause irritation. If you wear it 24 hours a day, you don't leave the possibility for the skin to "reinflate" and you even risk having a trace for a while. Worse:the muscles, nerves, vessels and lymph nodes are also impacted by the non-stop wearing of the bra. If it is too tight, it can reduce the blood flow to the chest, making it difficult to eliminate toxins, which can cause inflammation and edema.
We have been warned!
