Here's some info that should delight cheese lovers (we sympathize with the others!):Eating a small portion of cheese every day would reduce the risk of developing heart disease or having a stroke. However, cheese is not generally associated with a healthy life:it is accused in particular of being too fatty. This study, published in the European Journal of Nutrition , so the timing is right before the end of the year celebrations!
Researchers from the University of Soochow (China) thus examined 15 European and American studies on the subject, which still represents a fairly significant panel of more than 200,000 people. Thus, they discovered that people who ate a small portion (about 40 g) of cheese every day had a 14% lower risk of developing heart disease, and a 10% lower risk of having a heart attack. This would be the ideal portion, the one that increases the good cholesterol and decreases the bad (thanks in particular to the calcium contained in the cheese). Beyond that, on the other hand, it would not necessarily be very healthy... The authors of the study also admitted that they did not know the long-term effects of a daily consumption of cheese.
In any case, one thing is sure:we won't deprive ourselves of eating it often... in small quantities!
