The assessment of drugs deemed dangerous in 2021 is heavy! This report is due to the medical journal Prescrire which, for ten years, has been analyzing in detail the medicines authorized in France and in the European Union. Everything is scrutinized meticulously:scientific data, new pharmaceutical specialties, new indications as well as follow-up evaluations that report on effectiveness and adverse effects some products. The goal is to "help choose quality care, and avoid disproportionate harm to patients" , explains the review. It is clear that some drugs do not meet these requirements, experts have updated the black list drugs to avoid care .
For 2021, 112 new drugs including 92 marketed in France have been singled out. All are deemed "more dangerous than helpful" for health, because the benefit/risk balance is unfavorable. All specialties are concerned. Among them there are medicines intended to treat cancers, diabetes, heart conditions, rheumatic pains, or more simply coughs and dry eyes. The review states:
