A laser locates the tattoo pigment and sprays the ink into small particles to make it gradually disappear, without attacking the skin. The session lasts from 5 min to 1/2 hour, depending on the size of the tattoo. Please note, as with any laser manipulation, we make sure that the session is performed by a doctor (cosmetic doctor, dermatologist, etc.) and not by his assistant (it's the law).
Yes, the heat causes a little tingling with each pulse:the pain depends on the area, but it is very bearable if you are not cozy. After the session, redness and small blisters may appear; soothe with a healing cream.
No, the result is never guaranteed. It depends on the tattoo and especially on its pigments. Have we tattooed a parrot? It's badly crossed out, because the laser does not identify all the colors (red, light blue, yellow, etc.). Nd:YAG lasers can treat any type of skin, but you avoid going to your session when you come back from vacation all tanned (less effective and not recommended). But if it takes well, the tattoo gradually lightens with each session until it disappears completely without leaving any traces or scars.
This is the problem:around 100 € per session. And it usually takes 6 at a month and a half interval (patience!). But if the tattoo is recalcitrant, it may take a dozen. In the end, it will cost us more to remove it than to do it...
