/ Because I'm not doing it for the right reasons. Lose weight because our stupid guy thinks we're too fat? Because there are plenty of photoshopped chicks in the ads that make us believe it's the reality when not at all? Because everyone is doing it and we just want to follow the movement? No, no and no. Sport is a story between us and us. Between my body, my head, my desire to have fun... and that's EVERYTHING! OK ? So we review our reasons. And as long as the only real reason isn't a sincere "because I would really like to play sports", it's not. Because this motivation is the essence that fuels us.
/ Because I feel guilty. Ditto:this is often one of the most given bad reasons:"I MUST (and I don't want to) run because I ate too much chocolate", "I MUST run because everyone else does" ,… The worst ? Guilt is a hindrance. The more you feel guilty, the more your body - in a situation of fear - will block, become paralyzed and refuse to move. You don't play sports? So what ! You do a lot of really cool and tough stuff instead! Don't have an athletic body? So what ! Outside of the commercials and a few chicks, who they purposely CHOOSE to do this because they just LOVE it, do you know a lot of super athletic chicks? If you play sports, it's because you want to, period. So while waiting to find the desire, or to learn to silence your Pensouillard by launching into the race without thinking like in this funny testimony, we pause, we learn to love ourselves (even) more and we does lots of other cool stuff.
/ Because now is not the time. When you have a fever of 39° or you're going through a very, very hard time, it's not the time to give your all in the gym or in the race. We already give way too much. So either we let it go, or we reorganize to free up time (even if it means saying "no" to a boss or a loved one who asks us). But don't let that become an excuse to stay on our sofa when we're just lazy! Because in the event of a busy work period or fed up, playing sports allows you to get some fresh air.
/ Because I equate sport with suffering. While it can and MUST be fun! To run, we take with us a little playlist with our favorite songs, the ones that make us smile and want to do good everywhere. With Spotify Running, you can even run to the beat! And then, you can do your sport while having fun with friends or our boyfriend, do yourself good by stretching with love to the sound of Zen music,... It's up to you to find what could bring more joy to your session! And above all:we choose a sport that suits you. Jogging not your thing? Why don't you try something different, like Ultimate, jukari, aerial yoga or circus trapeze?
/ Because I don't congratulate myself. Yes, we spend a lot of time saying uncool things to each other and not enough to congratulate ourselves or just to be nice to ourselves. So after the effort, comfort. That doesn't mean gobbling up 25 churros after an abs session (we're not masos) but rather celebrating it over a drink with a friend, buying nice clothes in which you feel better, saying "wow, you're big, you breathe better going up the stairs", "rollala but what balance, what muscles! I even manage to open the jars of jam by myself. Oh yeah" or "Do you know you're hot? ". And yeah, we deserve it!
