Multitasking at the gym? Sounds like a bad idea:when you're distracted, it's harder to push yourself. But there is an exception to the rule.
Multitasking does work while spinning
Multitasking on the spinning bike would make you up to 25 percent faster. So next time you can read the Santé with confidence while spinning. This is shown by research from the University of Florida.
Distraction makes faster, but not always
That distraction makes it faster, only applies while spinning. This is probably because the pedals guide your feet and when you 'forget' you are spinning, you can get into a flow that makes you faster. Multitasking on another device won't make you faster. And it can also become dangerous.
