To know which bouillon cube , poultry and veal stock choose, the magazine 60 Million consumers published last year, a ranking of the best and the worst. For this, the journalists analyzed more than 20 products and in particular their salt content and the presence of additives, such as flavor enhancers, colorings and thickeners.
Why bouillon cubes often have a bad reputation? For their salt content! Indeed, among the references analyzed by the magazine, no less than9 out of eleven chicken broths did not obtain the average in the marks. According to the recipes, the salt content varies between 0.43 g and 1.63 g, for 150 ml.
The dehydrated broth which gets the lowest rating is Lidl's Kania chicken broth (7.5/20). It certainly contains too much salt, but also additives, allergens and palm oil. In the penultimate place, two broths obtained a score of 9/20:that of Auchan poultry, as well as the Dilecta brand broth . Both have a high salt content, additives and allergens. Another product well known to consumers is given a score below the average (9.5/20). This is Knorr chicken broth . In its composition there is too much salt, additives and allergens.
