Taylor Swift , queen of the cozy, we know, loves cooking, her cats, flannel pajamas and singing. To stick to this image, she revisited a vanilla cookie recipe , adding his personal touch:chai spices and a icing eggnog style, in the purest American tradition, to make our cookies even more "basic". Ready in less than thirty minutes, it takes about twenty minutes to prepare them, 10 minutes in the oven, and voila! We are ready to taste the spicy cookies from the queen of pop!
How to prepare Taylor Swift cookies?
For cookies, you need:
- 120g butter at room temperature
- 110g coconut oil
- 50g white sugar
- 50g brown sugar
- 60g icing sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 10g loose chai tea (or powdered chai tea latte mix)
- 260g of fluid flour
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 1 pinch of salt
For the frosting, you will need:
- 150g icing sugar
- 2 tablespoons of milk
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
Taylor Swift cookie preparation steps
- Remove the butter and leave it at room temperature for at least 1 hour. Infuse the tea with a tea infuser in very little water then beat in the oil and butter.
- Add all the sugars then add the egg and the vanilla extract; beat until thickened and whitened.
- Add the tea and stir. Add the flour, baking soda, baking powder and pinch of salt and beat for several minutes to obtain a slightly thick, creamy batter.
- Let stand several hours in the refrigerator.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C on fan-assisted heat. On a baking sheet, spread a sheet of silicone. Make small balls of dough and place them on the sheet spaced out. Lightly press down on the dough balls with the back of a moistened spoon. Bake for ten minutes but don't forget to watch!
- Mix the icing sugar and the teaspoon of milk until the mixture is quite thick.
- Add the cinnamon and nutmeg and mix again. Once the cookies have cooled, cover them with a little frosting.
- For an extra Taylor touch, we add a little cinnamon on the frosting, and voila!
