Every summer, this drink is all the rage! The kombucha , originally from Asia, has many virtues. Thus, it is consumed to heart's content after a hearty meal, or as a cure, in order to lose a few pounds and detoxify your body.
What is Kombucha?
Kombucha , it is a slightly sparkling drink that is obtained thanks to the fermentation of tea . This happens through carbohydrates like fruit and honey, and a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast, called SCOBYs.
We love Kombucha, because it acts on our body to help us improve our health. It fights against muscle fatigue and promotes recovery after sport, it reduces tissue inflammation and it helps build and maintain healthy joints. In the same way, Kombucha improves our digestion and absorb nutrients. It then regulates weight, since it decreases the absorption of fat, while promoting good cholesterol and eliminating accumulated toxins.
Kombuacha recipe:how to make this drink that helps you lose weight?
To make Homemade Kombucha , you need:
- black tea or green tea,
- 250 ml cane sugar,
- boiling water,
- 2.5 L of spring water,
- 1 SCOBY,
- 500ml plain kombucha.
Kombucha recipe:
- Bring the water to a boil then pour it into a large bowl. Steep the tea in it for 5 to 10 minutes.
- Remove the tea and add the sugar. Stir until dissolved.
- Add fresh water. Allow the liquid to cool to room temperature.
- Pour into the glass jar (4 liters), add the kombucha base and place the SCOBY on top.
- Cover the jar with a piece of cloth held in place with a rubber band.
- Store the jar for 7 to 10 days in a dark place at room temperature.
- Transfer the liquid into glass bottles. It can be consumed as is (after being cooled) or undergo a 2nd fermentation, which will add flavor and pleasant carbonation.
- For the second fermentation, at room temperature, add the juice, fruit or herbs.
- Keep 1 or 2 days at room temperature. When the bubbles have formed, store in the fridge to stop the process.
