A drawing of a man, an air pump, some cotton and of course a cigarette, here are the little paraphernalia necessary for the realization of this very simple video which is currently creating a buzz on the web. Produced and put online by a Dutch addiction prevention association, this staging aims to show the harmful effects of tobacco on the lungs. And, we confirm, it's not pretty to see! In this video, published on May 21, 2017 on the Be Aware Facebook account, we see a young woman making a paper man smoke a cigarette using a small pump. At the end of the presentation, we see the effect on the cotton (which was used as a "lung")... and it's shocking!
The association "Stichting Be Aware" wishes to alert children to the dangers of cigarettes through practical exercises and scenes that speak to them. "Normally we demonstrate in kindergartens but last week we didn't have time to go outside with the class so we decided to film the process," says director Pien Witteveen, still surprised by such a success.
Even if the scientific aspects of this exercise are not recognized, the educational and preventive side of these models seems to have caught the eye of a large number of Internet users. And yes, it can prevent some people from being attracted to cigarettes and even make others stop...we're not going to complain!
