La Roche-Posay has always been a brand aimed at sensitive and fragile skin, offering products that respond to specific problems, always with the backing of dermatologists. At the same time, the brand has made it its mission to raise public awareness of health issues such as sun risk and the monitoring of moles. But one of the objectives of La Roche-Posay is also to collaborate with dermatologists and oncologists to advance research on the side effects of anti-cancer treatments and to support patients to better live with the disease. On her site, she has just added a space offering free sophrology audio sessions.
These sessions are accessible from the “My skin during cancer” section then the “Sophrology sessions” tab. You then have the choice between short exercises (from 5 to 17 minutes) or full sessions (which last on average half an hour). In the program ? Work on breathing to relax and breathe consciously, de-stress and release tension or even do positive visualization (especially to prepare for a radiotherapy session) for short exercises. Complete sessions, as their name suggests, aim to prepare the patient before a radiotherapy or chemotherapy session, during and after. In oncology, sophrology is recommended to reduce anxiety, accept treatment and its adverse effects, manage pain, fight against fatigue and regain self-confidence.
With this new initiative, La Roche-Posay is taking a further step in supporting cancer patients. We applaud and we sincerely hope that it will allow many people to live better through this difficult period.
