The Superman pose is a well-known yoga pose. Even if you are not a yoga enthusiast, you can add this exercise to your workout. You strengthen your core (mainly your lower back) with this and that comes in handy in many other sports.
Step-by-step plan
1. Lie on your stomach on the floor with your arms stretched out in front of you.
2. Raise your arms off the floor with your thumbs up.
3. Inhale and lift now lift your chest, legs and thighs off the floor
4. Now you move on to the 'swim stroke':slowly bring your arms to the side and then back. Do it slowly and consciously.
5. From behind, bring your arms forward again, ready to make the next stroke.
The effect
With this exercise you train your different muscle groups. The exercise strengthens your core, but you also train your chest, arm, and leg muscles. If your back is a little tight, this exercise can help make your back more flexible.
