In some periods you get the flow. At other times, running just won't work. Was your last run too long ago? With these tips you can pick up running again.
Tip 1:Remember the last time running felt good
A great feeling when the run is going exactly as hoped. You can get that feeling again. You just have to do something for it, because hanging on the couch won't work.
Tip 2:Compose a playlist
Music is distracting, it makes you less aware of any pain or fatigue and it is good for your mood. This way you run a longer distance unnoticed. This isn't just any pep talk from us, it's backed up by Brunel University in London. A good reason to put together a new playlist and just go for it.
Tip 3:Go for a run together
Do you know someone with the same goal, or someone who can motivate you to get back to running? Agree to go together. This has two advantages:it is less easy to decide not to go at the last minute and time seems to go faster in good company. There are 'rules' for running together.
Tip 4:Remember that it is best to take a walk every now and then
There is nothing wrong with a walking break. You can still call yourself a runner. By taking a break every now and then, you can 'break' a longer distance into a few shorter pieces. This makes it clearer and easier to maintain.
Tip 5:Practice another sport
During hockey, football, basketball and many other sports, you run quite a distance. You might enjoy that more. You can request a free trial training at many associations.
