Is it wise to take a bottle of water with you for an hour of exercise?
You don't necessarily have to drink during an hour-long workout. Do you have a dry mouth while exercising? Thirst can be a sign of dehydration. Replenishing your moisture level takes a long time, however, and you can't do that with a bottle of water during a workout. If your body is supplied with sufficient fluids and you drink a large glass of water, you will pee it out again on average an hour later. If you are dehydrated, it will take much longer. Therefore, drink about one and a half to two liters every day, so that your fluid level is always at the right level, even before a workout. Incidentally, you can always drink something in between if you just find it refreshing. And if your workout lasts longer than two hours, it's a smart thing to do anyway.
