Exercising outside is wonderful. Especially in autumn and winter it provides a dose of energy. Will you just keep training outside now that it's getting colder and raining more often?
It is useful to make some preparations. Do you have any tips for keeping up with outdoor sports all year round?
1. Wear the right sportswear
Sportswear you have to protect against the cold, but at the same time drain your perspiration. Keep this in mind when choosing your sportswear † For example, cotton clothing is not so suitable when it is cold, when you sweat cotton becomes wet, which can make you hypothermic more quickly. So choose waterproof, but also moisture-wicking sportswear .
2. Make sure you have all the necessary accessories
A good sports jacket will probably come in handy if you year round outdoor sports. In addition, striking clothing and a running light can be useful, so that you are clearly visible. If it gets really cold, you might also want a hat and running gloves wear
3. Do a good warm-up
Warm muscles reduce the risk of injury. When it is cold outside, it is extra important that you warm up your muscles well. Preferably start indoors with a short warm-up and then build up your training outside. When it is cold you are more susceptible to injuries.
4. Think of your own safety
After dark, opt for illuminated or crowded routes and watch out for slippery autumn leaves and sleet. You can tie an LED light around your arm, but this reflective harness we find even safer!
